The Moscow Metro is one of the world’s deepest
underground rail systems, with an extensive network of terminals and
stations. The system is famous due to the interesting architecture used
at each of the 185 stations.
Visa requirements for Moscow
All travelers to Russia will require a visa for their stay in Moscow.
You will need to contact the Russian Embassy in your originating
country to arrange your visa. There are a number of visa types
available including a business visa and tourist visa. The business visa
is available in one, three, six and 12 month variants, with options for
single, double and multiple entries. Your Russian visa must be
registered within seven days upon arrival in the Russian Federate.
Failure to do so could cause you issues with the authorities.
The following requirements exist for obtaining a
visa, which can take around ten working days for processing:
- original and valid (to at least 6 months past
your intended date) passport with at least two blank pages
- two fully completed and signed copies of the
visa application form
- a passport-size photo signed on the back.
If you happen to be travelling in a tour group,
you will need a letter from your tour company with your itinerary
details; this should also include the acceptance from authorized
Russian travel company showing your reference number and acceptance
number for the visa.
If you are travelling separately then you need to
provide confirmation of your hotel arrangements from your authorized
Russian travel company (or directly from the Russian hotel) that
includes your reference number and confirmation number of the visa.
